The name of my system is the digestive system. The digestive system breaks down food. We need to break down food in order to store energy in our bodies. The parts of the digestive system are: mouth, salivary glands, esophagus, liver, stomach, gall bladder, duodenum, pancreas, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus. Food starts to digest in your mouth. Chewing and saliva break down food. Chewed food goes down your esophagus and enters your stomach. Nutrients get absorbed in your intestines. It is found from the head and is mostly in your torso. If you didn’t have a digestive system you would die because you wouldn’t have any energy.
